Ring the Liberty Bell
A replica of the Liberty Bell welcomes you at the door of America’s Founding Fathers Exhibit. Be sure to ring it during your visit!
The bell was cast at Paccard Foundry in Annecy, France. The foundry also produced 50 other Liberty Bell replicas, which were gifted to every state capitol in 1950. The bronze bell weighs in at 2,300 pounds and is made of 80% copper and 20% tin. Unlike the original Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, which suffered its famous final crack in 1846 when it was rung to celebrate George Washington's birthday, our replica Liberty Bell features a "false crack" which allows it to still produce a high-quality ringing tone.
